The fix is not a whiter cartridge. The fix is a smaller joint, a better colour match, and wherever possible a bonded acrylic seam instead of a flexible bead. Where movement demands silicone — against a plastered wall that will crack, or beside a window board — the bead should be tooled to a one to two millimetre concave, not left as a round worm. A round worm is what you notice. A concave disappears into the arris. Bonded seams in the run itself should use adhesive mixed from the offcut or a manufacturer joint adhesive coded to the sheet. That is not silicone. It is a rigid, polishable join that can be sanded flush so the thin white plane is continuous.

Save silicone for the perimeter, where the top meets a wall or a window. Use rigid, sheet-matched adhesive on seams in the run.

Coved upstands in the same acrylic need no silicone at the deck; the cove is the joint. Square upstands should be bonded to the deck with the same colour-matched adhesive and only a hairline at the wall. Hob glass should sit on its gasket, not on a ring of white mastic you will see every time you wipe toward the wall. Integral bowls also remove a silicone ring that an undermount sink would need. If you must undermount a separate bowl, the bead is inside the cut-out, tooled off, not a white picture-frame on the deck. High-key kitchens are unforgiving of picture-frames.

Bleach, limescale gels and tea left against an upstand will stain a bead even when they do not stain the sheet. Wipe the perimeter weekly. Do not run a scourer along the joint; you will feather the silicone into a grey smear that no longer matches. If a bead fails, cut it out and replace the whole length. Patching a thirty-millimetre repair in a three-metre courtyard run is always visible. Keep the coded offcut and the cartridge batch written on the drawing. Invisible joints are a system. When they are done properly, the only line you see is the thin white edge you specified for the handleless doors.
